I find myself

Pulling on the branch of a tree

Wondering why the truth is so hard to see

Why are the simple truths, the hardest to learn?

Little things that fade from adult concern

Is it time?

Is it man?

The heavy blow of life’s hard hand

That turns us from the things so clean and true
